Marineland & Magnum Polishing Canister Filter filters a lot of water as it says. It's very quiet and the filter sleeves aren't very expensive. I have it on a 46-gallon bow front aquarium. It makes a nice wake that a few of my fish like to play in, which is really funny to watch. My only complaint so far is that I have to change the filter sleeves often, perhaps because my fish don't finish the food fast enough so it doesn't get into the filter.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Works like a charm! I had a problem tank that was always a bit cloudy. I charged the MARINELAND MAGNUM POLISHING FILTER with some Diatometric earth and put the filter in the 30 gallon spawning tank in the evening and by morning the tank was crystal clear. I also used it after rearranging plants in my 80 gallon barb tank, It was amazing, I set it up around 15:00 and by 19:00 the tank was crystal clear. I LOVE IT! A very long time ago I had a Diatom filter that I got at a sale and it worked pretty good but this filter is 100 times better and easier to use than that old clunker. Used Marineland 250 for many years good filter but time consuming to clean to many parts. This internal canister filter took me 5 minutes to set up so convenient and it filters 296 gallons per hour 46 more than the 250 at half the size. Good filter for clearing water
I much prefer using the micron filter with it, it does a great job of clearing any fine particulate matter out of the water except a bacterial bloom. Anything else, the finest of sand particles or algae, is easily taken up by the micron filter. The carbon media container is good for filtration and can be filled with most any kinds of media, but if you have a dedicated filter already then the micron filter is much more useful in my opinion.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
