So far, so good
After only a few days in test mode with a single 140 watt panel charging batteries and testing out the load on off timing, I'm getting a good feeling for this CC. The designers clearly knew the shortcomings of inexpensive import CC's and I think they did a good job avoiding them. Yes, it's NOT $70 but it is worth the price. The LCD information panel is clear, back lit, and unlike many imports, setup prompts are written in well thought out English. In addition to the display there are status LED's for quick status checks. The LED's may have been more effective if they were bi color (red / green) but they're functional as they are. The system is raised up 1 1/2" away from the mounting surface to allow convection or forced air cooling to flow about the heat sink. The input and output lugs are massive and allow 4ga wire well suited for 60A use, unlike the junk 60+ amp controllers that typically use 12 gauge, or 10 gauge at best. Hear this... it COMES with a paper manual that's well written, AND a pdf is available for handy mobile reference. One issue I have with it is the cover over the lugs. The screws are tiny and REALLY needed keeper clips to prevent their loss, OR a latch to keep it in place for easy removal. When the weather cools down in Florida I'll be taking it live with six panels and really give it a workout, more to come.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
