  • Best value CPU

The undisputed champ of the AM4 platform. Sure, you could always step it up to 5950x with 16 cores, but even at second-hand prices, you will be paying what you normally paid for a brand new CPU ten years ago. Almost identical performance can be had for much cheaper by selecting this model. It crunches numbers much better than expected and pairs well with a high-end GPU like the RTX 3090 or 4090. I've read reports of the CPU running hot but, I've personally not noticed any issues using a wraith stealth cooler.

  • Stunning, unless you already have a 3900X.

Super CPU in ALL facets. The only "but"? If you already have a 3900X there's really no point in buying this one. I DO have both, right next to each other, and notice VERY little difference in 2 or 3 high core loving programs and none at all in the rest or in gaming performance. But I also have an Intel i9-9900K, and this just beats it outright in virtually everything. The Intel 12 series CPUs might be approaching competitiveness (I haven't tried one yet), but AMD is still 1-2 years ahead in R and D into the next models. This doesn't seem to have as much overclocking headroom as the 3900X no matter how I adjust the voltage, but in graphics editing (Vegas Pro) and sound (Sound Forge), I do see a noticeable difference in favor of the 5900X. The PCIe lanes probably account for that. I can't rationalize (no matter how hard I try) needing a 5950X for anything with this beast available.Even a 5800X is overkill for a huge majority of people, certainly if all they do is game. If that's your thing then a 2700X or 3600 is plenty for any title out there even now.

  • Couldn’t ask for anything better

The processor has a price tag to it but compared to anything else on the market it is by far the most bang for your buck. The company actually sells them for much cheaper compared to others. I was a little skeptical so I bought the insurance just to find out I didn’t need, I’m greatly impressed! My only complaint and it’s a super minor one is that it didn’t come with a box I was hoping to put the old one in there but like I said very minor. Perfect product and perfect team with fast shipping!

  • R9 5900X - Absolute Monster for literally anything

I ordered my 5900X and previously had a 3700X. Needless to say it was a night and day on any game I played and when doing video editing it was a beast. I love buying used and to be honest this is one of the better purchases iv made on eBay. I was concerned about it running hot and i mean, it Idles at 60 degrees with my AIO but it doesnt get above 75 and AMD reached out to me to inform me that its designed to run that hot due to how much power it uses. Amazing CPU

  • Outstanding!

Nice upgrade over my 3700X. I do a lot of “folding” projects, so having a higher core and thread count makes for better workload speed. Gaming power is over 23% higher (give and take depending on game/application)vs my 3700X. It was $599.00, so I paid an extra $50.00 over retail. I waited 7 months, (chip shortage was hell) but I got a great deal on this! The difference vs a 3900X might not be enough to switch, but in my case it was. Very happy. Shipped quickly and packaged like a boss! Puts out class leading gaming and multimedia numbers! Highly recommend!

  • A serious upgrade for anything older than the Ryzen 3000 series.

A major upgrade for me. Coming from a Ryzen 1700 in an x370 board, this new processor (the 5900x - installed on a x570 board) is more then double the speed. For example, it previously took 12 minutes to reencode a 43 minute video to x265 format, now takes less than 5 minutes. (GPU NOT upgraded)

  • Fantastic processor, especially with the current pricing

Fantastic processor, especially with the current pricing. I have it running as my new home server processor and it does a great job handling anything I've thrown at it. Highly recommend

  • Ryzen 9 5900x

Great for playing games, but more for multi-core processing such as video editing. Runs a bit hotter than my old Ryzen 7 3700x but that is to be expected due to more cores and a higher TDF. Using a 280mm AIO keeps temperatures below 65* under very heavy loads.

  • Definitely a beast for what it brings! With plenty of room for both gaming and/or other stuff lol

Definitely the best CPU I've personally have ever owned. More performance then I really need but I can't complain any. Will last me a really long time and allow me to do more then I've been able to do before with other computers I've built and owned before. Yes! It can run hit and will require a good cooler but so worth the performance it brings into my computer especially for the price compared to the other guys! *cough*cough*
