It took me about 20 min to set up. I checked a PCB I need to repair, and was able to find the issues right away. The base is VERY heavy and makes for a nice stable microscope. The Scope head came with instructions but the boom did not. Had to use the web site pictures to ensure proper assembly. Had one issue in mounting the microscope cradle to the boom - had to disassemble the tensioner to the boom to allow it to slide on. Shipping was very fast

    This is a PROFESSIONAL grade stereo microscope and stand

    I have worked in electronics repair for over 40 years and have spent quite a number of hours looking through a microscope while repairing printed circuits. Now that I am retired I no longer have access to a microscope to make repairs at home. Since purchasing this scope I have been able to repair 3 radios that I would not have been able to with out this scope. The zoom function is great to see different details on the units I am working on. The sliding "Double Arm Boom Stand" and the other adjustments allow for easy positioning of the scope for what ever you are working on. The base is 35 Lbs (15.8 Kg) and makes for a very stable system I really enjoy this scope and HIGHLY recommend it.

    Good value!

    This microscope works well for inspecting circuit boards. I took another user's advice and bought a 0.5 X Barlow lens to use with it. That great improves it's usability for my application. I also like the fact that I can move it back and forth and rotate it out of the way when I need accessto a board without the microscope. I find that a 4 diopter jewelers magnifying headset is also useful.

    Not typical junk found online.

    This is a pleasant change from the normal cheep plastic junk that normally comes when I buy on line. The delivery truck used a hand truck to deliver it. Then I found out why when I tried to lift the package. It all started there and when I unboxed it. Packaging was beyond good. I found all steel construction which a heavy base plate that takes all the wiggle out of using it. The finish and attention to detail is excellent. I was able to instantly find flaws in some circuit cards I had made that I did not know were there. I am very pleased with this purchase and look forward to using this great tool for years to come. Bottom line is I could not do modern electronics without it.
