Best of streaming devices
This should have been my first choice in Amazon streaming devices. If you choose to go with a proprietary steaming device like the Fire stick/TV device the 2nd Generation Fire TV is better built and far more convenient than the any of the Firesticks versions. First off the Fire TV doesn't use micro USB to power and communicate like the Fire stick. You'd think having a those two would be more convenient and you'd be absolutely right with the exception of the fact that this is first issue you have with an aging Fire stick regardless of the Generation/version. Next is the fact that you won't need a OTG cable to use USB devices (i.e. wireless mouse, keyboard, thumb drive, etc). Then there's the micro SD card slot to add additional memory which allows you to install apps to it. This keeps memory free on the Fire TV so there's less performance drag on the device itself. I personally used a 128 GB card because they're relatively cheap these days. Just be sure to purchase the appropriate spec for you box. The the Fire TV doesn't get super hot like the Stick does at times when using USB attachments. Now for the downside of the Fire TV; it like 10 times the size of the Fire Stick. You need to carry a HDMI cable when traveling and the bulky power supply to run the device. If you can live with those 3 cons you'll love the TV verses the stick. Amazon for fire tv and sticks are good little box but your still are screwed on live tv. streams they block everything and make it not enjoyable.
