As good as my old Makita, with several nice new features.
Purchased this to replace my 20 yr old Makita, and I like the new features, like the LED light, the depth of cut indicator, and especially the new thicker base which won't slip under a straightedge on long cuts. Also, the base is held with screws and bolts, rather than rivets, so it can be repaired/replaced if it gets bent. The weight of the new "magnesium" saw isn't much different than my old saw, but isn't an issue with me.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Long shipping, missing handle.
The saws carry box did not have the handle on it. They also shipped via FedEx requiring a signiture. FedEx refused too come up my driveway resulting in it taking 8 days longer to recieve the saw. I would have been better off driving 45 minutes to the hardware store. While it was new it was opened and package poorly as the carry case cannot be carried.

my all time favorite saw
I love this saw. I've owned one before when I was a contractor. It's lite weight, and bullet proof. This one is refurbished which in my opinion is as better than new. You can trust it to be true to it's front sites, and easy to hold with one hand. My all time favorite saw. Good saw
Saw is good. Nice and quiet. Lightweight. Only complaint is one corner of the shoe has a huge chamfer and this can cause stability problems when cutting this width boards.
