Good Quality For An Economy Set
I feel it is a good value (at $22.99 w/ free shipping) for an economy (made in China) backgammon set. I like its simplicity in design and all wood construction including wooden discs and dice cups. Unlike the more expensive leatherette travel cases, there is nothing to peel away or come undone. The plastic handle, however, may become a problem with time. My only dislike were the unmatched pieces. Although the red discs and red die matched the red triangles on the board perfectly, the brown discs with white die proved an irritation since they did not match the black triangles. I corrected this by spray painting the discs black and finding a black die. Its 'mama bear size' is perfect for using in a coffee house. Poor quality product and assembly
Attractive set. Very light weight......you may consider that good or bad. I thought it was more of a negative. The dice cups are too small......the die had to be positioned just right to drop in. The big problem is that it was not assembled correctly. One side of the board (the right side in the picture) was reversed and the slots for pieces and dice were on top of the play area. It was totally unusable, and returned. A replacement might have been ok, but didn't want to chance it. Very poor quality control in the assembly. Purchase at your own risk.Attractive set.
