Ninja Foodi SP101 Countertop Air Fryer and Convection Oven - Great

Great price on the refurbished unit. It's easy to set the time and temperature for any mode. We use the air fry mode mostly but the other modes are easy to access and use. It has a pretty wide opening so overall it's a bit wider than many of the "toaster ovens" that I grew up with. Love the pivot feature so that it takes up less counter space when not in use. When i first set it up I found on the left inside of the unit there was a tab for the bottom slot that prevented the grate from sliding in properly. I had to slightly bend the tab outward with a pair of needle nose pliers so that the large grate would slide into the bottom slot. And the power cord absolutely must be pulled away from the storage slots on back of the unit when it's turned on as IMHO the cord gets way too hot if it's resting in the slots. Only other downside I see so far (and it's a nit pick not a real problem) is that to store the pan, grates and air fry basket in the unit one has to put the pan right under under the air fry basket while puitting the small grate on top of the air fry basket, and then push all three together at one time with the air fry basket sliding into the top slot (see picture). A bit cumbersome initially but easy to do once i got the hang of it. . Overall this is a good unit so far, and for the refurbished price, is a really good deal.

    Stores well!

Trays are hard to get in and out. Seems under rated in power. Food is great in it but it takes more time then I thought it should.

  • Ninja foodi air fryer

Ninja Foodi sp101 air fryer 8 functions is one of the best. The flip up design does save counter space and it's convenient to use Unit os a little heavy no more and less then many other similar air fryers. It definitely works as discribed. If you want a unit to cook whole chicken this is not the one the inside height is max about 6 inches Also the dimensions as listed are miss leading outside dimensions are 14 front x 18 front to back by 7.5 height .it's listed as 15 height that's when it's on counter at flipped up for storage. This referbished from manufacturer is brand new absolutely no wear o ly in a different box. Packaging excellent. 100.00 less then brand new with a 2 yr manufacturer warranty opposed to 1 yr a score

  • This Product Has More Features Than Expected

I am so incredibly happy with this Ninja oven. I have an air fryer before, but felt limited with their small baskets for cooking. Certainly not conducive for more than one person or multiple food items at one time. But, the convenience, short cooking times and ease of clean up encouraged me to try this ninja. - There's a mesh tray (for air frying) there's a nonstick tray, also a wire rack, and a crumb tray to catch all the excess. - The interface is simple to use. - I am so impressed if I were to pre-heat my oven it would take 10 minutes longer than this product to get to 350 degrees. - The surface area is so much larger for air frying that it evenly browns all of your ingredients, plus this unit is just the right size for a store-bought frozen pizza! - The interior light makes it, so easy to check on progress without opening. - Beeps when the timer expires. - After cooking, this ninja automatically keeps everything warm too.

  • Great size, longer cooking time

I bought this particular air fryer because of the size. I needed it to fit under a cupboard on the countertop. at a cottage and It fit wonderfully and is much lower than many of the other air fryers. It's very stylish being stainless. The preheating of this oven is super fast!! Seconds rather than minutes. the reason I have it 4 stars instead of 5 is that this air fryer takes double the amount of time to air fry something than a different model/manufacturer we have at our home. Something that takes 10 minutes in our at home fryer takes around 20 minutes in this air fryer. I'd still buy the Ninja again for the size and features even though air frying takes longer.

  • Works well. Does everything we need. A few quirks.

Works well as an all-in-one type of product. Has good room for air frying. Everything else works as designed (e.g. toaster, oven bake). I like the flip up aspect for storage and the easy open bottom panel for cleaning. Unique and useful. Controls are easy to manage and quite intuitive. Obviously they're more involved than a simple analog toaster oven, but still quite easy to use. Be careful storing the wire basket and baking pan together. I found it best to put the wire basket upside down because it's a tight fit otherwise and you risk scratching the baking pan. Also, the fan that turns on when the air fryer is going is a bit louder than expected, but it's tolerable. Overall, recommended. Especially at the cheaper refurbished price I got it at.

  • Great for multi-use

I would keep a toaster if that’s what you mainly use unless you have a larger family and want to do multiple slices at once. For air fry and air roast and other things this is awesome. Very efficient and heats fast. I love it! For just toasting something quick it takes more steps than a toaster though. You have a lower crumb tray and it’s easy to clean plus the flip up feature allows more counter space while not in use.

  • Size Compromise

The Ninja Foodie Air Fryer. Like the title says, size is one of the features of this device. It is smaller in height but as wide and deep as many of its larger competitors. The short height limits the size of items it can cook (the internal height is about 2.75” from grill to the upper heating elements.) The design is excellent for specific small items, but the lower height reduces its versatility. The good: It can accept a regular pizza or about a 13”x13” tray for cookies, brownies, roasted potatoes, or hot wings. That savings in height allows the unit to tip up out of the way for when not in use and the bottom panel opens for easier cleaning. The controls are simple and intuitive. It preheats fast and the air fry settings cook relatively fast. The bad: It can be unsafe to use things like oven-safe pans with handles or taller pans, which get way too close to the exposed glass-covered top heating elements, which can break and create an electrical hazard. That short height puts greasy items very close to the top surface, so you can expect some baked-on grease splatter and tough stains from hot spitting oils, butters, grease, etc. I’ve seen a few of these with broken top, front elements due to getting snagged on cooking trays or handles on that exposed upper element and they are not designed to be repaired by unskilled consumers (electrical hazards, sharp-edged panels, riveted interiors, different element resistance ratings, and differing element insulator sizes that can’t easily be accessed or replaced. Replacement elements are not sold individually) once broken, it’s done. So don’t put oversized items in it. Overall, the toaster oven functions well for limited items, is easy to use, and easier to clean than similar toaster ovens. But, it is not as versatile as a taller competitor

  • I wish there were more stars to rate it!!

I love this appliance. I call it an appliance because you can't pin it down to one thing. I bought it because of the fold away feature and it was supposed to replace my toaster oven, but it is so much more. First thing I made was a home made pizza (not a frozen one). I actually burned it a little bit because it cooked in half the time as in my big oven. Now that I've read all the instructions I see myself using the foodi for everything. I'm even planning to make myself a bunch of dehydrated fruit. I could go on and on about how much I love this, but all I can say is buy one, you'll love it too.

  • Recommended for All Around Use at a Good Price

Does all it says it will do. Sometimes a bit longer time needed to cook all the way. However, that may due to the slightly different judgements and tastes of the individual. Seems to be well designed including ability to hide the power cord if there is any excess length. My only "disappointment" is the stainless steel is not a higher quality as it does not allow quicker removal of prints and smudges, spills and the like. The metal exterior is a bit on the thin side. Not enough to warrant a downgrade. Overall happy with the unit. Only wish it was made in the United States.
