Wait 24hours before using. I received mine with the wrong window kit so I had to wait an extra week for another kit. The unit works and cools down my room, before using the cooling option dehumidify your room with the dry function for better performance since humidity is what makes you feel hot. You can simply use the dehumidifier option during the day to cool down your room while saving energy . The good thing is you don’t need an AC to cool down your place anymore since it works similarly as a dehumidifier. use the dehumidifier option to do the job. I am using this in a weird extreme way.. I have it in a semi rig to cool the bunk for a sleeping team driver during the hot Phoenix summer.. Running on a 2000 watt inverter it works but draws hard on the batteries.. In 105 heat in a uninsulated metal box it keeps the temps in the 70s.. Only had a couple weeks so dont know about long term quality yet. Noise level is medium. Air movement is medium. Cooling is pretty good.. It's cool and everything, but a few issues out of the box
Do not let the title mislead you about the quality of the product itself. This air conditioner is compact, convenient, and does its job really well. However, when I opened the box and took out the vent that ensured that exhaust didn't fill my room, the hose separated from the vent almost immediately. I've since remedied the problem by cutting a hole in my screen to slip the hose through, but I haven't been able to properly block out the window that the vent is supposed to point out of as a result, leading to a higher energy usage, as the cooler has to work much harder to cool the room. However, it's made the summer much more bearable. 4 stars for a good product, minus one star for the hose/vent and the fact this thing cost more than my entire bed.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

Great AC unit BUT....
Great AC unit. Blows cold air, circulates decently. Adjustable fins to direct airflow. BUT be prepared to empty this unit about every 2 hours if you live in an even moderately humid area. It is only self-evaporative if you live in an absolute desert. I purchased a condensate pump and tubing so that I would have a fully automated system, and furniture risers to get the unit off the floor. I recommend you do the same with this or any other unit that fills with water (all of them).

The cons are minor, grateful to have it.
The unit arrived in a timely fashion, well packed. Was easy to unpack and set up. Works well, looks brand new. The noise level is a bit higher than I thought it would be but you get accustomed to it quickly. The only other thing negative is keeping up with the condensation draining. Great portable A/C by LG
It arrived sooner than anticipated and right before a NYC heatwave. I had it hooked up in about 20 minutes, including the window kit, and together with my circulating ceiling fan, it's a great combination. I also raised the unit on a crate to allow the water to drain into a large container for hours of continuous use without it cutting off. The fan speeds seem to have no difference at all and the fan noise is noticeable, but I'd rather deal with a little noise instead of sweating all day and night. this turn out to be a wonderful product, I had purchased one for myself an that it worked so well my woman had asked me to get her one so I did. I will say that it is a bit noise but with the coverage I am getting I can put up with that little noise. The one that I purchased for my woman friend well we found out that with the ceiling fan on it is even better, it pushes the air around the room so much better..... over all this is a great product, I do wish to know if you folks make a much larger one I am wanting to put one in my shop, it would need to be around 17000 plus BTU's..Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

Great air conditioner.... BUT LOUD
YES, all the other reviews are right. I lived with a hamster and other animals and thought I was used to sound, but having this next to my bed made me realize all the reviews were telling the truth. Its loud. Manageable but loud. Produces great air. Fan is the loud part of the unit and it never turns off even when the compressor is on. There are things you should know before buying
This needs to be emptied from two different places and does not include any hoses or hardware in which to do so, It has a water outlet halfway up the back with a rubber plug that will need to be hooked up to a tank or by running a hose outside, but this is only necessary if the unit is used in "dry mode"(dehumidifier basically). If rubber plug is left in and the unit is run in dry mode it will fill up immediately and shut down displaying a code. So just make sure to keep the unit in the cool or fan mode if you do not have a drainage method setup. There is also another plug on the bottom of the back of the unit that is stated in the manual that this will occasionally need emptying though after months of use by me this summer I have not had to empty the unit, but it is stated that if that tank becomes full that a code will be displayed and the unit will not operate until unit is emptied(but as stated this hasn't occurred after months of heavy use by me). Btw this is all just in an afternote on the very last page of the manual and was never mentioned in the specific listing displayed from vendor. All that said it cools my bedroom down from 90 degrees to 70 degrees in a little over a half hour, depending on the outside temp I will then put on the timer for 4-6 hours on low cool setting which btw is still just as loud as the high setting. I believe the unit is listed at 50DB's which is great for my tinnitus, but is still very VERY loud, it seems to have gotten louder since when I first hooked it up and frankly I'm beginning to get really annoyed by the sounds this unit makes, if you're using this in a bedroom as I am and planning on watching TV in order to hear it you have to raise the volume so high that it really makes for a bad situation when it comes to relaxing in the bedroom before sleeping. The unit does not have the "energy saver" function that turns the fan off as well when the target temp is reached so it will run all night even when a very low temp is reached, after waking up freezing with this fan blowing at me twice I made sure to set the timer function. This is a big heavy unit, not an easily returned item, so I've made sure to divulge any possible issues that may be a deal breaker in hopes to avoid such a scenario for you. Since all the windows in my bedroom aren't adequate to accommodate any size of a standard type of A/C unit, this type of a/c unit was required, unfortunately I'm not very happy with this particular brand and model overall, I should have kicked in the extra few bucks and went with something a bit more higher end, hindsight 20/20 as usual.
