    It works but be prepared to tinker.

    I replaced my original cigarette lighter assembly with this one so on the positive note it does work. My 66 Caprice has a trim ring that goes around the lighter, this one does NOT fit within that ring. I had to grind the lip off the inner piece to get it to fit. Also my 66 has a push on style connector for the positive wire and the original has a small threaded piece with a post on the back side for the wire. This one does NOT come with that piece so make sure to save yours and no the original terminal will not fit over the stud.
