    Bar's Leak HG-1 stop leak

my 2002 Pontiac grand am 3.6l was leaking coolant and overheating (classic signs of a gasket leak). I followed the directions carefully and it worked great to fix my original problem but it did clog the heater core. Flushing the heater core is a pretty easy, so it wasn't any huge ordeal.

    IT WORKED BUT............

Have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Laredo, as we all know, those 4.0L head gaskets always go. Starting seeing cloudy oil on the oil cap and was losing antifreeze. . Put a bottle into the radiator , ran the heat on high and took it on the highway for a half hour. It's been two weeks, havent lost any oil, or antifreeze and the oil cap is no longer cloudy. UPDATE: Though this stuff will seal your leaks, it will also clog up things it shouldn't. Ended up having to replace my radiator, my water pump, my heater core, then had to flush this junk out out of the engine multiple times..

  • Didn't fix my SMALL headgasket leak.

I have an older 5.0 V8 Mustang that has a small leak between a cylinder and a coolant passage. Read that this stuff would fix it and much worse head gasket problems. Installed per the directions, and it ....didn't fix my head gasket at all. Still blowing bubbles and pumping up the radiator if I get on it for any length of time. Car even runs worse now! So no big deal, it's satisfaction guaranteed! Well, not really. You have to go get a letter from a mechanic saying that your head gasket is blown. Kinda shady if you asked me. One thing that it did fix--I had a small leak at the water pump that would always leave a tiny little pool of green coolant on top of the pump. Dry now. So no, this isn't going to fix your engine with a blown head gasket like mine...like mom said: "If it's too good to ...

  • EASE OF INSTALLATION AND GOOD RESULTS

I PURCHASED THIS ITEM TO SEAL A POSSIBLE LEAK ON THE HEAD GASKET OF MY 20 YEAR OLD MB SLK200 FOLLOWING SPENDING NUMEROUS EURO'S AND LABOUR BY A GARAGE AND THIS WAS THE LAST OPERATION BEFORE GIVING THE CAR TO THE SCRAP DEALERS. AFTER CARRYING OUT THE INSTALLATION OF BAR'S LEAK SOLUTION INTO THE ENGINE, I FOUND I WAS STILL LOSING WATER BUT BY SWASHING A HOSE ON THE WATER PUMP I WAS SEEING WATER OOZING OUT OF THE HOSE ON TO THE THERMOSTAT WHICH HAD A LARGE HOLE IN THE HOSE. I REPLACED THE HOSE AND SINCE I HAVE NOT LOST A DROP OF WATER.

  • Did what it said it would.

I expected it to perform as claimed, and it did.it was expensive overall to me because of heavy postage and currency exchange costs, but overall it was great value in the money it saved me by repairing the head leak, very good product if used the right way..
